A release tracker shouldn’t pretend that only heavily marketed books exist, and it shouldn’t pretend they don’t either. Independent publishers remain especially important in lesbian audio (Ylva, Tantor’s growing lesbian-romance catalogue, independent productions and new audio editions of established sapphic novels), while the big publishers released a strong run of sapphic audio this spring and summer. These are additional 2026 audiobooks we’ve verified, newest first.

We’ll keep adding titles as their audiobook editions can be verified. The key word is verified: a Goodreads listing or an announcement that “audio is coming” isn’t enough for us to invent a release date, narrator or runtime.

New Book or New Audiobook?

Suppose a lesbian novel was published five years ago, and in September 2026 it receives a professionally produced audiobook for the first time. Is it new? As a book, no. As an audiobook, absolutely. That’s why we show the audiobook release date.

But “new edition” doesn’t always mean “new performance,” and we try to say which is which. The Lily and the Crown is a good example: Tantor’s 2026 edition is new to its catalogue, but Angela Dawe’s narration has been available since 2021. For a listener who never found the earlier edition, that’s still news. For one who already owns it, it probably isn’t, and a release tracker should tell you that.

Why the Narrator Is Part of the Release News

For print readers, the author is usually the main creative name on the cover. Audiobooks add another person, sometimes two, sometimes a whole cast. That’s why we treat narrator announcements as meaningful information rather than tiny metadata under the purchase button.

A new Haley Cass audiobook narrated by Lori Prince matters to listeners who already follow Prince. A new Allie Shae or Natalie Naudus performance is discovery information in itself. Duet, Dual and Single Narration

These terms aren’t interchangeable, which is why The Whole Truth is particularly interesting: its publisher explicitly identifies Lori Prince and Bailey Carr’s performance as duet narration. When a publisher doesn’t specify the format, we don’t guess; we simply list the narrators.

How We Verify New Audiobooks

New-release pages become useless quickly if they fill up with outdated pre-order information, so our process is deliberately conservative. For each audiobook we try to verify the title and author, audiobook release date, narrator, runtime, audio publisher, narration format when confirmed, series position, genre, and whether the sapphic relationship is central, substantial or secondary.

Publisher pages and live audiobook-retailer records take priority. When sources disagree, we identify the edition or avoid presenting an uncertain number as fact. The audio publisher isn’t always the book’s publisher, either: several Ylva titles, for example, are distributed in audio by Tantor Media, and we list the audio publisher. If a future release changes date, this page changes with it.

Why runtimes sometimes differ

You may see slightly different runtimes for the same audiobook: 18h 27m on one retailer, 18h 28m on another. That doesn’t mean one edition contains different material; platforms round differently. When the difference is tiny, we use “about” or follow the most precise verified listing. Large differences require an edition check.
