Most readers find us through search engines and AI assistants while looking for a specific trope or subgenre, which means they arrive with intent to buy. Our largest audiences are in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada and Australia. We are a growing, specialist site rather than a mass-market newsletter, and our prices reflect that honestly. We update these numbers every month.

Prices are in US dollars, and all payments are made through PayPal. Launch prices are guaranteed for any booking made before 31 December 2026, even if the placement runs later. As our audience grows we will review prices, and we will always publish the numbers behind any change.
How It Works
- Apply. Fill in the short form below with your book, the package you want and your preferred month. Applying is free and commits you to nothing.
- We check the fit. Within three business days a person reads your book’s listing, confirms it is sapphic, confirms it fits the trope page you chose, and checks that your month still has space.
- You pay by PayPal. If we accept your book, we email you a PayPal payment request for your package. You can pay with your PayPal balance or a card. Nothing is charged before approval, so you never pay for a placement that is not going to run.
- Your book goes live on the 1st. Applications for a month close on the 20th of the month before, so we have time to build your card and show it to you first.
- You get a report. At the end of the month we send you the number of views on the pages that carried your placement and the number of clicks on your link.
What We Accept, and What We Never Sell
Books we accept
- Sapphic books: romance with a central relationship between women, or sapphic fiction where queer women are at the heart of the story. Trans women and non-binary sapphic characters are welcome.
- Published books and books with a live preorder. Self-published, small-press and traditionally published books are all welcome.
- Books available in English. We will consider other languages for our French and Italian guides; ask in the form.
- Dark romance is welcome, with honest content notes. We may ask you for them.
We may decline any placement that is not a good fit for our readers, and we will tell you why.
What advertising never buys
Sponsored placements are completely separate from our editorial work. Paying for advertising never buys, influences or speeds up a review, a rating, a place in a “best of” list, a spot on the Sapphic Release Radar, a Reader Buzz assessment, or anything we say about a book. Advertisers’ books can be reviewed like any other, and they receive exactly the same honest treatment. Every paid placement is labelled “Sponsored” and its links are marked as sponsored for search engines.
What We Need From You
- Cover image: at least 600 pixels wide. We take it from your retailer listing if you prefer.
- Hook: one line, 25–40 words, written for readers rather than a press release. We may shorten it for space, and we will show you the final card before it goes live.
- One link: your Amazon page, your website or your publisher’s page. We use the link you give us.
- Trope page: for trope listings, tell us which guide you want. If your book does not fit it, we will suggest one that does.

How much does it cost to advertise on Lesbian Romance Reads?
Launch prices are $15 a month for a Sidebar Featured Book, $20 a month for a Trope Page Featured Listing ($30 for our four highest-traffic guides), $25 a month for a Homepage Featured Card, and $49 a month for the Spotlight Bundle with all three ($59 with a high-traffic guide).
Can I pay for a review?
No. Reviews, ratings and editorial lists are never for sale. Advertising only buys a clearly labelled sponsored placement. Submitting your book for a possible review is always free; see our author resources.
How do I pay?
By PayPal. Once your book is approved we send a PayPal payment request to the email address you used in the form. You can pay from a PayPal balance or with a debit or credit card through PayPal. Your placement is confirmed when the payment arrives.
When does my placement start?
On the 1st of the month you book. Applications close on the 20th of the month before. If you apply after the 20th, we will offer you the following month or any space left in the current one.
What if my book is not accepted?
You pay nothing, because we only send a PayPal payment request after approval. If the problem is the trope page, we will suggest a better match.
Can I get a refund?
If we fail to run your placement for any part of the month, we extend it by the number of days missed or refund that portion, whichever you prefer. Once a placement is live, it cannot be cancelled for a refund.
Can I book more than one month or more than one trope page?
Yes. Tell us in the form and we will hold the spaces for you. Each trope page still carries only one sponsored book per month.
Will I know whether it worked?
Yes. At the end of the month we send you the views for the pages that carried your placement and the clicks on your link. We cannot see your sales, so you may want to use a trackable link, such as an Amazon Attribution link, if you want to measure them.
