Royal sapphic romance can mean two princesses promised to the wrong futures, a queen falling for someone outside the court, a bodyguard who is supposed to protect rather than desire, or a modern royal trying to keep love out of the headlines. What matters here is that royalty shapes the relationship, not just the worldbuilding.
We separate contemporary royals from fantasy courts, royal/royal couples from royal/commoner pairings, and bodyguard or knight dynamics from generic warrior fantasy. Court fantasy often continues across a series, so check the ending label before you start.

No. Royalty has to shape the romance. Books where a crown is only background were left out.
Is knight romance the same as royal romance?
No. A knight may have no royal love interest. We label literal knights separately and list them on the Knights shelf.

No. Contemporary royals are their own shelf, from British princesses to invented European monarchies.
