Alexandria Bellefleur Books in Order: The Complete Guide (and Which Ones Are Sapphic)

Last checked: 31 October 2026. Part of LRR’s sapphic romance reading orders.

Here’s the thing nobody tells you before you buy a stack of Bellefleur: she’s a bisexual author who writes bisexual characters, and not all of her couples are two women. Of her eight published novels, five are F/F and three are M/F, and the one coming in December looks to be M/M. Her 2024 Amazon holiday story is M/F too.

None of that is a criticism. It just means the most useful thing this page can do is tell you which is which before you’re three chapters in.

Start here: Written in the Stars, her Lambda-winning debut. Want a standalone? The Fiancée Farce.

Heat runs from L1 (kisses only) to L5 (very explicit). V = from an LRR review, A = the author’s own label, E = our estimate. Bold scores come from LRR reviews; a “p” score is provisional (Goodreads average minus 0.2) until we review the book.

Scores with a “p” are provisional: the Goodreads average minus 0.2, until LRR reviews the book. “Thin data” means under 300 Goodreads ratings.

Just the sapphic ones, in order: Written in the Stars, Count Your Lucky Stars, The Fiancée Farce, The Devil She Knows, Playing for Keeps, and next May, Someone Borrowed, Someone Blue.

Written in the Stars series in order

Three books in the same Seattle friend group, each with a new couple. Book 2 is M/F, and if you only want F/F romance you can skip it. Olivia is planning Brendon and Annie’s wedding in book 3, but you’ll pick that up in a sentence.

1. Written in the Stars (2020). Darcy Lowell is an actuary who trusts numbers. Elle Jones is an astrologer who trusts the stars. Darcy’s brother sets them up, the date is a disaster, and Darcy tells him it went great so he’ll stop matchmaking. Elle needs a date for her family’s holidays. So they fake it until New Year’s. – Tropes: fake dating, opposites attract, blind date gone wrong, holiday season, grumpy/sunshine, meddling sibling, loose Pride and Prejudice echoes – Heat: L4 – Ending: HEA after a late third-act breakup. Some readers found the ending abrupt – Rep: lesbian (Darcy), bisexual (Elle) – Eikna 3.8 (LRR review). Goodreads 3.83 from 70,840. Won the 2021 Lambda Literary Award

2. Hang the Moon (2021). Not sapphic. Brendon, Darcy’s romantic little brother, finally gets his shot with Annie, Darcy’s best friend, who’s in town for a week before moving to London. It’s a sweet M/F romance with a bisexual heroine.

3. Count Your Lucky Stars (2022). Margot feels left behind now that her friends are coupled up. Then Olivia, her childhood best friend and first heartbreak, turns up newly divorced and needing a room. They agree to keep things casual. – Tropes: friends to lovers, second chance, friends with benefits, roommates, first love, wedding planner heroine – Heat: L4 (Smart Bitches called it “scorching”) – Content notes: divorce, a parent’s heart attack, abandonment anxiety – Eikna 3.9 (LRR review), her highest-scoring book. Goodreads 3.94 from 29,516

The sapphic standalones

The Fiancée Farce (2023). Tansy runs her late father’s Seattle bookstore and invents a girlfriend, using a romance cover model’s photo, to get her stepmother off her back. Then the model, Gemma, turns up at a family wedding and proposes. Gemma needs a wife to inherit; Tansy needs money to save the store. – Tropes: fake engagement, marriage of convenience, inheritance clause, bookstore, opposites attract – Heat: L4 – Content notes: parental death (background), a difficult stepmother, a serious past involving nude photos shared without consent – Rep: both leads bisexual – Eikna 3.8 (LRR review). Goodreads 3.95 from 21,165

The Devil She Knows (2025). The day Sam’s girlfriend turns down her proposal, Sam gets stuck in an elevator with Daphne, a demon one soul short of her quota. Six wishes, one soul. Every wish to win back the ex goes sideways. – Tropes: deal with the devil, wishes gone wrong, demon love interest, elevator meet-cute, trying to win back an ex – Heat: L2, one on-page scene, late – Reader pushback: Sam is fixated on her ex for a long stretch, so the real romance starts late – Eikna 3.4 (LRR review). Goodreads 3.62 from 10,393

Playing for Keeps (January 2026). A quarterback’s cheeky tweet at a pop star goes viral, and their two publicists, Poppy and Rosaline, have to manage the fallout together. The client romance is M/F and gets real page time, so know that going in. – Tropes: rival publicists, workplace rivals to lovers, PR stunt, celebrity, scandal – Heat: L4 – Content notes: recovery from alcoholism, deepfake images, imposter syndrome – Eikna 3.5 (LRR review): sharp, steamy and fun at its best. Goodreads 3.72 from 3,634

Someone Borrowed, Someone Blue (18 May 2027). In Charleston, Wren is about to enter a marriage of convenience when the groom’s half-sister Juniper, once her closest friend, comes home. Then Juniper’s father turns up dead on the wedding day and both women become suspects. A romantic mystery, which is new ground for Bellefleur.

The non-sapphic books, briefly

  • Truly, Madly, Deeply (2024): a romance novelist and a divorce lawyer co-host a dating-advice podcast. M/F, both leads bi. Readers rate it as one of her steamiest.
  • Merriment and Mayhem (2024): an Amazon Original Christmas short with a firefighter hero. Its huge rating count comes from being free on Prime.
  • Damned If I Do (September 2026): a demon heroine has to divorce her reincarnated 16th-century husband. M/F. It shares its Hell premise with The Devil She Knows, but no official series link has been announced.
  • If These Walls Could Talk (8 December 2026): a new-adult roommates romance between two men, per the one listing we could find.
  • Frostbite (2017): an early M/M fantasy novella from a press that has since closed.
